How We Worship
John 4:24 tells us that "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. Because we want our worship to be pleasing and acceptable to God, we must worship in spirit and in truth. By following the example of the first century Christians , we can know we are worshipping in a manner that is pleasing to God.
Elements of Worship
01 Singing
Congregational singing of praise and encouragement from the heart. A Cappella singing is the only form of music used in our worship. The New Testament does not authorize the use of instrumental music so we do not include it in our worship. Matt. 26:30; Acts 16:25; Rom. 15:9; 1 Cor. 14:15; Eph. 5:18-19; Col. 3:16; Heb. 2:12; James 5:13
02 Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is observed every first day of the week as instructed in the New Testament. Matt. 26:26-28, Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 10:16, 1 Cor. 11:23-26
03 Praying
Praying to our Lord for specific needs and requests, praises and thanksgiving are a part of our worship service each Lord's day. Matt 6:5-15, 1 Thess. 5:17)
04 Giving
We are commanded to give to the Lord's church on the first day of each week. The funds are used to spread God's word in our local community. 1 Cor. 16:1-2, 2 Cor. 9:7
05 Preaching
A lesson from the word of God is presented by one of the men of our congregation every first day of the week. It is our duty as Christians to search the scriptures to be sure what is being presented is from God's word. Mark 16:15, 2 Tim 4:2, Acts 17:11
